🚀 How the PDF to JPG Converter Works

  1. Select File: Click the file input field and choose your PDF document (.pdf) from your device.
  2. Initiate Conversion: Click the red Convert button. The tool uses the PDF.js library (by Mozilla) to load and read the PDF pages directly in your browser.
  3. Canvas Rendering: Each PDF page is rendered onto an invisible HTML <canvas> element. This process effectively converts the vector data of the PDF into a raster image.
  4. JPG Generation: The canvas content is then extracted as a high-quality JPG Data URL using toDataURL('image/jpeg', 0.9). The 0.9 parameter controls the JPG quality.
  5. Download: You can download the currently selected page as a JPG, or click Download All as ZIP to package all generated JPG pages using JSZip. The entire process is client-side, meaning your file never leaves your computer.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is my PDF file uploaded to a server?
No. This is a **client-side** tool. The entire conversion process, from reading the PDF to generating the JPGs, happens locally within your web browser. Your file is **never uploaded** to our servers.
2. Can I adjust the JPG quality?
The current setting is set for high quality (90%). You cannot adjust it via the interface, but this standard setting offers a great balance between file size (small for JPG) and visual quality.
3. Why are the JPG files smaller than the PDF?
JPG is a **lossy compression** format, and the conversion rasterizes (converts to pixels) the vector elements of the PDF. This results in significant file size reduction, ideal for web use or sharing.
4. How is the conversion speed affected?
Speed depends on your computer's CPU and memory, as all processing is local. Large PDFs with many pages or complex graphics will take longer to render than simple text documents.
5. What if I only want one page from a large PDF?
The tool must render all pages before the preview is shown. Once complete, select the page you want and click **Download Current Page** to save only that single JPG.
